According to media reports, Pakistan has banned ‘Agent Vinod‘, actor Saif Ali Khan‘s latest film with actress and girlfriend Kareena Kapoor. The film allegedly made references to the Pakistani spy agency Inter Services Intelligence (ISI). ‘Agent Vinod’, written and directed by Sriram Raghavan, features Saif along with Kareena Kapoor in lead roles and is being released on March 23. Saif plays the role of an Indian RAW Agent. The film opens in the Eastern Europe. Agent Vinod’s partner in the film has joined hands with LeT or Russian mafia and he passes them all information but he is caught and killed, but he leaves a clue behind before he dies.
However, like a typical Bond movie, the mission for the desi spy seems to prevent nuclear war from happening. Agent Vinod is on a mission. Then a rollercoaster ride begins where he goes to Moscow and then to Pakistan to India to London to Cape Town. And he saves nuclear war that was to happen in Delhi.
Very interesting dual standards of Pakistani censor authorities; don’t you think so. While a popular TV channel has been allowed to spit venom, one way or the other, against Pakistan’s spy agency and its former chief through a weekly talk show “Capital Talk”, the Bollywood movie has been banned. The controversial host of the show known to have close links with the terrorists has embarked upon the terrorists’ and Indian bandwagon of a malicious campaign of attacking Pakistan’s security establishment is enjoying the ride. Media freedom has its own pitfalls but the freest of the media in the world does not misuse freedom against CIA, MI5 or even RAW.
People have genuinely starting believing that Agent Vinod is totally harmless as compared to the Capital Talk.
